Reset pointer bg color (OSC 114)

Category: extensions · Baseline: rich · Tags: Operating System Commands (OSC), Xterm Extensions · Specification ↗

ESC ] 114 BEL
OSC 114 resets the mouse pointer background color to the terminal's configured default. The sequence is ESC ] 114 BEL. This is the companion reset for OSC 14, which sets the pointer background color. Together with OSC 113, these complete the xterm pointer color management protocol. Most modern terminals delegate cursor styling to the host operating system or window manager and ignore these sequences entirely; xterm is essentially the reference implementation.
How this is testedpartial
Send OSC 114 BEL and verify the terminal remains responsive (sequence consumed without error).

The same probe runs against headless backends (via Termless) and real terminal apps (via a daemon launched in each terminal). This lets us distinguish parser correctness from rendering correctness.
